Home Search Assistance

Finding housing in Taiwan can be challenging, especially if you don't speak Mandarin or aren't familiar with the local rental market. Expath helps you find housing that matches your budget, lifestyle, and priorities. You'll work directly with Jacob, a licensed local real estate professional, who provides bilingual guidance throughout the search while working with a licensed local real estate agency for property brokerage and lease transactions.

• Apartment Search: Curated shortlist of 4-5 properties that fits your budget, lifestyle, and preferred neighborhoods.

• Rental Market Guidance: Understand local rental prices, lease expectations, common practices, and what to look out for before making a decision.

• Property Viewings: Same-day accompanied viewings, with neighborhood orientation folded in as you walk between them .

• Landlord Communication Support: Landlord negotiation on price, terms, and the early-termination clause. Clause-by-clause lease translation and walkthrough plus signing support and deposit handling.

A personalized settlement package tailored to your individual needs. We'll focus on the services that matter most to you during your first days in Taichung.

• Airport/ HSR Welcome Service: Land in Taichung Airport or High Speed Rail and skip the stress — I'll meet you at arrivals and get you straight to your accommodation, so your very first hour in Taiwan feels handled, not overwhelming.

• Government Office Assistance: Receive guidance / accompaniment for essential government appointments, including ARC applications, National Health Insurance enrollment, and other administrative procedures where applicable.

• Bank Account Assistance: Receive guidance/ accompaniment through the bank account opening process, including document preparation and language support where needed.

• Neighborhood Orientation: Explore your local neighborhood and discover nearby supermarkets, cafés, pharmacies, transportation, parks, and other everyday essentials.

• SIM Card & Mobile Setup: Get connected quickly with assistance choosing a mobile plan and setting up your phone for life in Taiwan.

• Essential Apps & Digital Setup: Learn which apps you'll rely on in Taiwan, including transportation, food delivery, banking, messaging, payments, and daily life.

Full Package NT$12,000

Need help with just one service? ARC/NHI/bank account application accompaniment and neighborhood orientation are NT$2,500 each. Sim card & Mobile set up can be accompanied at NT$1,000. Airport pickup can be booked on its own for NT$3,000 and HSR for $2000.

Monthly — NT$2,000/month
Includes 120 minutes of personalized deductable support each month, with additional time billed at NT$1,000 per hour. Perfect for newcomers who value having a trusted local resource on hand as they settle into life in Taichung. No long-term commitment—cancel anytime.

Per Session — NT$1,300/hour, NT$650/half hour
No monthly commitment, no cancellation to think about. Reach out only when you actually need something. Additional time will be billed accordingly.

Optional Add On Service

Airport & HSR Welcome Service: Begin your relocation with a personal welcome at Taichung International Airport (RMQ) or HSR Taichung Station. This service is included with our Settlement Services and may also be added to any à la carte service. I’ll meet you upon arrival, accompany you to your accommodation, provide a brief introduction to the surrounding area, and answer any questions along the way so you can begin your new life in Taiwan with confidence.

Important Information:

Airport & HSR Welcome Service includes transportation from Taichung International Airport (RMQ) or HSR Taichung Station to accommodations within Taichung city center. Areas include Central, East, South, West, North, Xitun, Nantun, and Beitun Districts. Please note that greater Taichung suburban areas are not supported at this time.

Service Hours: Airport & HSR Welcome Service is available for scheduled arrivals between 8:00 AM and 12:00 AM local time. Arrivals outside these hours may be accommodated upon request and are subject to availability and an additional surcharge.

Flight or Train Information: For airport pickups, please provide your flight number at least 48 hours before your scheduled arrival so your flight can be monitored for delays. For HSR pickups, please provide your train number and scheduled arrival time once confirmed.

Buffer Time: Airport pickup includes up to 60 minutes of buffer time after your flight lands. HSR pickup includes up to 30 minutes of buffer time after your scheduled train arrival. Additional waiting time may be subject to an extra fee of NT$500 per hour.

Transportation: Transportation will be arranged via a licensed taxi or rideshare service. Transportation is included in the service price.

Additional Travelers: Please let me know in advance if you’re traveling with additional guests, oversized luggage, pets, or other special transportation needs so suitable transportation can be arranged.

Service Scope: This service includes a personal airport or HSR station welcome, accompaniment to your accommodation, and general local guidance. It does not include immigration assistance, customs procedures, porter services, or legal or immigration advice.

Cancellations: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your scheduled arrival are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Airport Pickup: NT$3000 incl. transportation cost
HSR Pickup : NT$2000 incl. transportation cost
(+ $500NTD /hour beyond buffer time)
